Ballinkillen N.S. prides itself on keeping abreast of new Educational initiatives. Say Yes to Languages is an initiative taking place in schools currently which offers primary school pupils an introduction to a variety of modern foreign languages. This programme encourages awareness amongst pupils of the mixture and diversity of languages used in Ireland today, in our schools and communities.
Last year pupils in Third to Sixth Class learned Spanish with Senora Annette. In 2023-24, our senior classes took part in the Say Yes to Languages initiative and learnt some French with Madame Thérese. As well as learning the language, we learned about the language and culture and some songs.
We are delighted to take part again in the Say Yes to Languages project during Term 1 in 2025, when pupils from 5th and 6th Class will continue their language learning.
