The Parents' Association
The Parents' Association is the structure through which parents in the school can work together for the best possible education for their children. The PA works with the principal, staff and Board of Management to link home and school. We primarily raise funds to improve the educational facilities of the school and for ‘little extras’ such as basketball and tennis coaching, buses for swimming, matches and school trips. We also give feedback on parent/guardian views on aspects of school policy (e.g. homework policy, anti-bullying) and arrange hospitality at school events e.g. First Communion, Confirmation, New Infant Parents’ Night. We organise events for the children and families eg selection boxes and hot chocolate for Santa’s visit, Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny, the Christmas Fair, the Family Fun Run, flag days and bake sales and much more.
The PA meets regularly and we love to see new faces and hear new ideas. The committee is run by parents who currently have children in the school and being involved is a great way to get to know other parents while also feeling connected to the development of the school. We also get to see the “behind the scenes” work which goes on in the school – giving us a real sense of belonging. We communicate with parents via messages on Aladdin via the school, our PA Facebook page and our WhatsApp group.
