ETHOS & MISSION STATEMENT

 OUR MOTTO

"Mol an Óige agus tiocfaidh siad" - Praise the youth and they will  flourish.
Our motto reflects the relationships we share with our students - but this applies to everyone with whom we come in contact in our school. We look for the good in our students. It is at the core of all we do.

OUR ETHOS
Our prevailing ethos is Roman Catholic. Our school is inclusive and welcomes pupils of all traditions and beliefs. The presence of children from diverse backgrounds enriches the life of our whole school community.

We aim to provide a secure and caring  environment for our pupils where happiness and enhancement of self-esteem are of prime importance.

All our children will be encouraged TO BE THE BEST THAT THEY CAN BE - physically, socially, aesthetically, emotionally and spiritually - and to develop a strong sense of personal and moral responsibility.

We hope that our children will leave this school as confident, caring individuals capable of making a worthwhile contribution to society.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

At Ballinkillen National School, we are a co-educational Catholic primary school dedicated to providing a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where every child is nurtured to reach their full potential – intellectually, spiritually, physically, morally, socially, and culturally.

Rooted in our Catholic ethos and traditions, we warmly welcome children of all faiths and none, and we respect and celebrate the diversity of beliefs within our school community.

We strive to create a happy, vibrant place of learning built on trust, mutual respect, and partnership, where children feel secure, valued, and supported to grow in confidence and self-esteem.

Our dedicated staff work together to inspire curiosity, foster a love of learning, and encourage each child to take pride in their achievements, preparing them for the next stage of their education and for life beyond the school gates.

We believe that education is a partnership between home and school. We actively encourage and value the involvement of parents and the wider community, recognising their vital role in our pupils’ learning and development.

We are committed to the ongoing professional and personal development of our staff, ensuring that our teaching and learning remain dynamic, forward-thinking, and inclusive.

We promote equality, fairness, and respect for all, encouraging every member of our school community to feel they belong and have an equal opportunity to thrive.

Cuirimid an Ghaeilge chun cinn agus spreagaimid ár bpáistí í a úsáid agus a chleachtadh go laethúil.

Ballinkillen National School – where happy memories are made, friendships are formed, and every child is given the foundation to grow, learn and flourish.
