"Mol an Óige agus tiocfaidh siad" - Praise the youth and they will flourish.
Our motto reflects the relationships we share with our students - but this applies to everyone with whom we come in contact in our school. We look for the good in our students. It is at the core of all we do.
Our prevailing ethos is Roman Catholic. Our school is inclusive and welcomes pupils of all traditions and beliefs. The presence of children from diverse backgrounds enriches the life of our whole school community.
We aim to provide a secure and caring environment for our pupils where happiness and enhancement of self-esteem are of prime importance.
All our children will be encouraged TO BE THE BEST THAT THEY CAN BE - physically, socially, aesthetically, emotionally and spiritually - and to develop a strong sense of personal and moral responsibility.
We hope that our children will leave this school as confident, caring individuals capable of making a worthwhile contribution to society.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Ballinkillen National School is a co-educational Catholic primary school which strives to provide a well ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed. While our school is a school governed by the Catholic ethos, we also welcome other religions and show due recognition for all other religious beliefs.
We aim to promote our school as a happy place of learning built on mutual respect, where teachers and pupils are part of one big happy family and where everyone will feel safe and secure at all times and be treated at all times with dignity, honesty and respect.
We hope that our pupils will attain a high level of self confidence and a sense of pride in their achievements and in their school so that in later years each past pupil will remember Ballinkillen as a place where they enjoyed the most formative years of their lives, thus enabling them to look back with pride.
We hope that each child receives a wholesome and fully rounded education catering for mind, body and soul. We will endeavour to create the working environment necessary to prepare each child for second level education.
Ballinkillen N.S. encourages the involvement of parents through home-school contacts working together with the Ballinkillen N.S. Parents’ Association.
Ballinkillen N.S. aims to promote the professional and personal development of each member of staff through staff meetings, in-service, and staff development programmes.
We aim to promote gender equity amongst staff and pupils.
