PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME

WELCOME

On behalf of our pupils, staff, parents, Board of Management and the Parents’ Association, it is my very great privilege to welcome you to the Ballinkillen NS school website. We are pleased to offer you this website as a communication tool. It is one of many ways in which we interact with our parents, community and those seeking more information about our school.

Ballinkillen National School is an all-inclusive and welcoming Catholic School. We are a vertical school with girls and boys from Junior Infants to 6th Class. Our staff members are a passionate, hard-working and extremely talented group. I want to sincerely thank them for their contribution to our school. They are fully committed to the holistic development of all of the children in their care. As a staff, our aim is to enable each child to reach his/her full potential and to use his/her unique gifts and talents to the best of his/her ability, while feeling cared for and valued. We believe in mutual respect. Our school motto “Mol an Óige agus tiocfaidh sé” reflects our values of encouraging the best from each one of our students while expecting and maintaining high standards in both teaching and learning.

Our Board of Management holds high expectations to ensure that each and every pupil will meet his/her full potential. Our Board is committed to creating a safe and positive learning environment. Our staff and pupils promote and model truth, kindness and compassion. We are also committed to nurturing the physical, social and emotional needs of all pupils.

We acknowledge and respect that parents are the primary educators and they play a pivotal role in their children’s education. The parents of Ballinkillen NS have been an invaluable resource over the years. Our Parents’ Association is a vibrant and hardworking group. We thank the PA most sincerely for the amazing support it has shown our school to date. We greatly appreciate the immense contribution of parents and the PA to the education of our pupils. The support is evident in the many improvements that can be seen around the school today and the many opportunities we have been afforded over the years.

As Principal, I feel it is paramount that everyone who steps through the gates of our school is proud and excited to be part of our school community. I am honoured to be principal of such a fine school and I look forward to the years ahead.
